Egg nog or hot chocolate?
I'm like one of the 3 people I know that I love egg nog. Everyone else absolutely hates it which I totally don't get!! but i like hot chocolate too.
Does Santa wrap presents or set them under the tree?
when I was a kid, santa would leave the gifts unwrapped under the tree. now that i have a kid, santa stays up all night assembling said gifts and then signs mommy and daddy's name to the good stuff...i like the glory:)
Colored lights on tree or white?
I'm totally a white light person. Jeffrey and i disagree about this every year. every single year. he likes the colored lights...that blink. i just can't do it. it's just too tacky.
When do you put your decorations up?
Typically we put them up (tree at least) on the evening on Thanksgiving. This year, we finally got the tree up a couple days ago and there is currently ONE ornament on it. I'd say we have about half of our other stuff up so far. I'm not sure why we are struggling this year. Probably out of fear-Connor wasn't walking/destroying last year.
What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Stuffing. Nothing fancy-Stovetop
Favorite holiday memory as a child?
as a child? probably the buttload of gifts i got.
Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
My family has always had that tradition. Jeffrey's family opens all of their gifts on Christmas Eve though, so the novely of the one gift has kinda lost it's shimmer.
How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
our tree is fake first off. and it's pre-lit with WHITE lights:) we have lots of ornaments, some personal ones, some not so much. we have lots of them from when we were kids too. no tinsel-that's gross.
Snow! Love it or dread it?
think it's great in theory
Can you ice skate?
not well, but i can get around.
Do you remember your favorite gift?
yeah, my dad got us a camcorder a few years back, iPods two years ago and a rumba last year. good times:)
What's the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Watching my son enjoy Christmas
What is your favorite holiday dessert?
cookies, if they are soft and chewy. and have no nuts.
What is your favorite tradition?
jeff's fam does everything on the 24th, and they eat this traditional slovak meal. it's horrible so jeffrey and i have a tradition of getting In & Out for dinner on our way over there each year. good times. We also celebrate St. Nicks on the 6th of December. (btw. i'll post pics of this year's st. nick asap)
Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
I really love finding something that I know someone will love. Maybe they mentioned in 6 months earlier and I've managed to remember. But, if i'm being honest, I really like presents for me too.
Candy canes! Yuck or yum?
I'm not going to go out of my way to eat one, but I'm a fan I suppose.
Ever recycled a Christmas present?
hells yeah.
